The ViSalus home business opportunity is making a name for itself in the network marketing industry. So is this company a scam or a legitimate home based business opportunity?
1) ViSalus - The Company
The co-founders of ViSalus, Blake Mallen, Nick Sarnicola, and Ryan Blair, created the company with the intent to bring together passion for others with the principles of healthful living and entrepreneurship. The name ViSalus is taken from the Latin words “Vi,” which means life, and “Salus,” meaning Health and Prosperity. The company was incorporated in March 1997 in Troy, MI. The company has satellite offices in CA too.
2) Products
The ViSalus Sciences products include vitamins, supplements, weight loss, and anti-aging products. The ViSalus Vi-PAK vitamin packs were the first products that the company brought to market. The ViPAK comes in packs that are divided out for AM/PM use. The product retails for $150 for a 30 day supply.
One of the company’s more popular product lines is the ViSalus Trim Slim Shape Program. The program contains about every weight loss product available for purchase including shakes, deter mints, recipe booklet, journal, and even a measuring tape to measure yourself.
ViSalus NEURO products are formulated to give your body as well as your mind a lift.
3) Pay Plan
The ViSalus home business is a network marketing company. There are a couple of options of how you can join: “Associate” for $39, or the $499 level “Executive Success System.” ViSalus operates with a unilevel comp plan. This pay plan is characterized by having a certain number of “qualified” legs as well as meet specific sales volume levels. Another required step is that you have to maintain a monthly “autoship.” These things have to be done for you to receive your commission checks. Just like with any other network marketing organization, you can advance through the ranks and achieve a higher pay scale and qualify for added bonuses.
4) Wrap Up
To summarize, ViSalus is not a scam. It is a legitimate MLM company that gives its distributors the opportunity to earn an income as well as take useful products. ViSalus has some potential problems though. The network marketing industry is extremely competitive. Although ViSalus has high quality products, they are still the standard pills, capsules, drinks, and powders that so many network marketers have grown tired of promoting. What is the reasoning for this? It is because it becomes difficult to make your company and product stand out from the crowd of other herbal supplement MLM companies. Some of these other companies include Herbalife, Pharmanex, Usana, and Noni. What makes one unique from another? It often comes down to the “expert” advice and recommendation of one doctor over another.
Likewise, if you want to make it in the MLM market you have to offer products that are unique. You need products that are highly consumable and also one of a kind. This ensures that you will be able to market your products to a wide variety of potential prospects and be able to earn an income.
